Dubai, UAE, November 12th, 2025 - WeFi has announced the appointment of Michael Batuev as Head of Payments. Batuev, a former Visa executive with extensive experience in traditional finance and fintech payments infrastructure, joins the decentralized financial platform to accelerate its global rollout of crypto-fiat payment solutions.

The appointment marks a significant milestone for WeFi, which has been bridging the gap between decentralized finance (DeFi) and traditional financial services. Batuev brings over a decade of high-level experience in payment systems, card issuing, and cross-border settlement infrastructure.

"WeFi is building something that truly solves the friction between crypto and daily spending," said Batuev. "The vision of a 'Financial Ecosystem'—a decentralized platform that offers the user experience of a fintech app with the security of self-custody—is the future of finance. I'm excited to lead the payments division and ensure our users have seamless access to their funds worldwide."

WeFi's platform integrates non-custodial wallets with traditional financial tools, allowing users to deposit fiat, mint stablecoins, and spend their crypto assets instantly via WeFi Cards without manual off-ramping. Batuev's role will focus on expanding these capabilities, securing new financial partnerships, and optimizing the global settlement layer.

Reeve Collins, co-founder of WeFi, commented: "Michael's expertise at Visa is exactly what WeFi needs as we scale. We are building a compliant, global financial ecosystem, and having a leader who understands both the regulatory landscape of traditional payments and the innovation of blockchain is invaluable."
